Chickpeas with Swiss Chard
Chickpeas were definitely a staple in mom’s cooking as they are in most, if not all Moroccan homes. They are quite versatile and can be added with almost any dish. They are also perfect on their own as they are high in protein and a great substitute for meat if you are vegetarian or vegan. Swiss chard is the other star of this dish, it adds flavor and a different texture. The cumin and lemon adds to it earthy, warm notes and a burst of citrus.
