Solange’s Donuts (Sfenj)

Fried foods are a tradition for Hanukkah and my mom loved making Moroccan donuts. She would try to make a small batch but didn't know how. There was always enough for the whole neighborhood. We would wait impatiently for those amazing donuts to come out of the hot oil so we could devour them in just minutes. There are many ways to enjoy them. You can spread butter on them or dip them in honey but my favorite was drizzling them with maple syrup.
